What We Clean and Check in Each Room

Our house cleaning quality inspection has six sections and 50 points: what our cleaners clean in each room, and what the Team Leader checks against our professional cleaning standards before the crew leaves your home. Every one of them is listed here.

Some inspection points depend on the service purchased, the condition of the home, accessibility, and the authorized scope of work. Maintenance cleaning, deep cleaning, reset cleaning, and move-out cleaning do not necessarily include identical tasks, and not every task is part of every appointment. The Team Leader inspects the points that apply to the service you booked.

Entry & General Appearance

Points 1–1010points

Your entry is the first thing you see when you come home, and dust settles from the top of a room down. These points cover the high areas, the surfaces hands touch, and the overall look of the home, including making sure nothing of ours is left behind.

  1. Entry door clean and free of fingerprints.
  2. Visible cobwebs removed.
  3. High dusting completed.
  4. Ceiling fans and blades checked when included.
  5. Light fixtures checked when included.
  6. Switch plates visibly clean.
  7. Doors and door frames checked.
  8. Furniture surfaces free of visible dust.
  9. Décor and items returned neatly to their proper locations.
  10. No equipment, bottles, cloths, or cleaning supplies left behind.

Living Rooms & Bedrooms

Points 11–2010points

These are the rooms you live and rest in. Professional cleanliness here means surfaces free of visible dust, glass without streaks, and a room put back in order, with your bedding handled with care.

  1. Furniture dusted.
  2. Tables and nightstands dusted.
  3. Lamps dusted.
  4. Picture frames and décor dusted.
  5. Window sills checked.
  6. Baseboards completed according to service level.
  7. Mirrors and glass streak-free.
  8. Beds made neatly when included.
  9. Pillows, blankets, and comforters arranged neatly and never placed on a dirty floor.
  10. Carpet and floor edges visibly clean.

Kitchen

Points 21–3212points

The kitchen is where food is prepared, so residue, water spots, and crumbs matter more here than anywhere else. A professionally cleaned kitchen has wiped surfaces, a scrubbed and rinsed sink, polished fixtures, and no fingerprints on the appliance fronts.

  1. Countertops completely wiped.
  2. Backsplash clean.
  3. Sink scrubbed and rinsed.
  4. Faucet polished and free of water spots.
  5. Appliance fronts free of fingerprints.
  6. Stove and cooktop completed according to service.
  7. Microwave exterior clean.
  8. Microwave interior clean when included.
  9. Cabinet fronts completed according to service level.
  10. Kitchen items returned neatly to their proper places.
  11. Trash emptied and liner replaced.
  12. Kitchen floor edges and corners checked.

Bathrooms

Points 33–4311points

Bathrooms are where a missed detail is noticed first. These points go to the places that are easy to skip: under the toilet seat, behind the toilet, the corners and ledges of the shower, and hair left on any surface.

  1. Toilet bowl completely clean.
  2. Toilet seat top and underside clean.
  3. Toilet exterior and base checked, including behind the toilet.
  4. Tub and shower surfaces clean.
  5. Shower corners, ledges, and edges checked.
  6. Sink and vanity clean.
  7. Faucet polished.
  8. Mirror streak-free.
  9. Hair removed from counters, sinks, tubs, showers, and floors.
  10. Trash emptied and liner replaced.
  11. Floor edges and behind toilet checked.

Floors

Points 44–485points

Floors are cleaned last, so they show the result of the whole visit. The edges and corners are checked, not only the open areas you walk on.

  1. Hard floors free of visible dirt and debris.
  2. Corners and edges vacuumed.
  3. Carpet vacuum pattern neat and complete.
  4. Under accessible furniture edges checked.
  5. No mop streaks, footprints, puddles, or visibly missed areas.

Final Home Inspection

Points 49–502points

The last check is of the whole home rather than a single room. The Team Leader walks through to confirm the work is finished before the crew leaves.

  1. Team Leader completes a final visual walkthrough, confirming that the home looks finished, organized, and professionally cleaned.
  2. Maid O’ Matic magnet and rating card left in the designated location before departure.

Total50points

Points that say “when included” or “according to service level” are inspected when that work is part of your authorized service and the area can be reached.

21 Years of Experience. A Standard Built on Accountability.

A checklist only means something when the company behind it has the people, the training, and the oversight to hold itself to it. Maid O’ Matic has been an Albuquerque cleaning company since 2005, and the 50-point inspection is where that experience shows at the end of a job.

Questions About the Maid O’ Matic Quality Inspection

Have a question we did not answer here? Our office is glad to help.

Does Maid O’ Matic inspect every home after cleaning?

Yes. Every cleaning ends with a final quality-control check. Each employee first inspects their own assigned work, and then the Team Leader walks the whole house using our 50-point inspection before the crew leaves. The inspection covers the work included in your authorized service.

Does the 50-point inspection mean every item is cleaned during every appointment?

No. What is cleaned depends on the service you authorized, the cleaning time you approved, the condition of the home, and what our crew can reach. That is why several points say “when included” or “according to service level.” The Team Leader inspects the points that apply to your service, and the inspection does not add tasks that were not part of it.

Who performs the final inspection?

The Team Leader. Every Maid O’ Matic crew has a Team Leader who is responsible for the finished result. After each employee has checked their own assigned work, the Team Leader completes the final walkthrough and confirms that the home looks finished, organized, and professionally cleaned.

What happens if an item doesn’t meet inspection standards?

It is corrected before the team leaves, as long as it is part of your authorized service and approved hours. If your home needs more cleaning time than you booked, the Team Leader asks you before adding time, and nothing is added without your yes. If we still missed something within the approved scope and hours of your cleaning, tell us within 24 hours and we will make it right, as described in our Warranty & Booking Policy.

Do deep cleaning and move-out cleaning include additional tasks?

Yes. The scope of work varies by service level. A deep cleaning or reset cleaning goes further than a maintenance cleaning, and a move-out cleaning of an empty home has its own scope. The inspection follows the scope of the service you booked. See what each service includes: deep cleaning in Albuquerque and move-out cleaning in Albuquerque.
