What You Need to Know Before You Book
Will I get the same crew every visit?
Not always, and we won’t promise it. People get sick. People take vacations. A promise like that gets broken the first time one of them does. What you will always get is a Maid O’ Matic W-2 employee — background-checked, trained in our own classroom, tested at 90%, working from the same checklist as everyone else — and a Team Leader on every crew who walks the whole house before they leave. The standard doesn’t change when the faces do.
Is every clean a deep clean?
In Albuquerque, no. Most of our Albuquerque customers are on a routine schedule, and a routine clean keeps a well-kept home maintained. A deep clean resets a home that has gotten behind. They take different amounts of time and cost different amounts, and we’ll tell you which one your home needs before we start — not after. We won’t call every visit a deep clean, because it isn’t.
Outside Albuquerque — Rio Rancho, Corrales, Placitas, Bernalillo, Sandia Park and Cedar Crest — it’s the other way around. We only do deep cleans, resets and move-out cleans there, so every clean is a deep clean, and the starting rate is listed on our estimate calculator.
What’s included in a routine clean?
A routine clean keeps a well-kept home maintained. Every visit: Kitchen — counters and backsplash, sink and fixtures, the outside of every appliance, stovetop and hood, microwave inside and out, cabinet fronts, table and chairs, trash out with a fresh bag, floor last. Bathrooms — tub, shower and glass, tile, sink and vanity, mirrors, fixtures polished, toilet, floor last. Bedrooms and living areas — high dusting first, every surface hand-dusted, beds made, mirrors and glass, touch points wiped, upholstery vacuumed, floors last. Throughout — light switches and outlet plates, doors and frames, baseboards, vents, window sills, cobwebs, vacuuming and mopping.
Deep cleaning and appliance cleaning (inside the oven or refrigerator) are available too. Like everything we do, they are priced by the labor hour, so they add time to your visit rather than a separate fee.
What do you do on a deep clean?
A deep clean (we also call it a reset or spring clean) starts at 8.5 labor hours — from $500 in Albuquerque — because the home is full: furniture and belongings to work around, and buildup on all of it. Here is what the crew does, top to bottom:
- ✓ High dusting first — ceiling fans, light fixtures, vent covers and cold-air returns, the tops of door frames, window trim and cabinets — and then everything the duster touched gets washed, not just dusted
- ✓ Blinds, window sills and tracks, doors and door frames, light switches, outlet covers and wall plates hand-washed
- ✓ Every item on every shelf and counter lifted and the surface washed under it
- ✓ Furniture: what can be moved safely is moved, washed and vacuumed (cushions off), cleaned behind and under, and put back
- ✓ Kitchen degreased — stovetop and hood, backsplash, counters, sink, microwave inside and out, appliance exteriors, cabinet fronts
- ✓ Bathrooms deep-sanitized — tub, shower and glass, tile and grout, soap scum and hard-water scale, sink and vanity, mirrors, fixtures, toilet
- ✓ Mirrors, interior glass and every touch point wiped
- ✓ Baseboards hand-washed and floor edges done by hand, then floors vacuumed and mopped last
- ✓ The Team Leader’s final detail check before the crew leaves — including the finger test on a door top and a baseboard
Not part of a deep clean unless you add it: inside the oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and cabinets; closet shelves; inside windows; the garage. Add-ons are priced by the labor hour like everything else, so they add time to the visit — there is no separate fee.
What do you do on a move-out cleaning?
Move-in and move-out cleaning starts at 8.5 labor hours ($500 plus tax) — a starting price, not a flat rate. An empty house hides nothing, so we clean what the furniture used to cover, inside and out. Here is what the crew does:
- ✓ Before photos of every room from the same spots, then the Team Leader’s walk — anything hazardous or extreme goes to the office before anyone starts
- ✓ High dusting of every top — vent covers and cold-air returns, the tops of door frames and window trim, cabinet and refrigerator tops, closet shelves
- ✓ Blinds, inside windows, sills and tracks wet-wiped
- ✓ Doors and frames, light switches, outlet covers and wall plates wiped; walls spot-cleaned; closets and built-ins cleaned inside and out
- ✓ Kitchen: inside every cabinet and drawer, inside the oven, refrigerator and microwave, stovetop and hood, sink, counters and appliance exteriors
- ✓ Bathrooms pretreated and scrubbed — tub, shower and glass, tile and grout, vanity inside and out, mirrors, fixtures, toilet
- ✓ Laundry room, pantry and closets cleaned, trash out
- ✓ Baseboards hand-washed, then floors vacuumed and mopped last, corner to corner
- ✓ After photos from the same spots and the Team Leader’s final check before the keys go back
Only if you order it: the garage, porch or patio, and carpet and upholstery cleaning (its own service). If the home needs more than the hours booked, the Team Leader asks you before adding time — nothing is added without your yes.
How does pricing work?
By labor hours — three cleaners for two hours is six labor hours. You get an instant estimate online, you approve it, and you’re on the schedule. No deposit.
If your home needs more time than was booked, we’ll say so, tell you what it costs, and you decide. Nobody works past the hours you approved, and nothing gets billed that you didn’t say yes to.
Why don’t you have a wall of awards?
Most “Best of” awards in Albuquerque are reader polls. Whoever gets the most votes wins, so companies campaign for them — they ask customers, friends and their own staff to go vote. We’ve never done that and we’re not going to start. We’d rather spend that energy on your house.

What if I’m not happy with a clean?
Love Your Clean — Or We’ll Make It Right. If we missed something within the approved scope and hours of your scheduled cleaning, tell us within 24 hours and we’ll come back and make it right at no extra charge.
Do you use green products?
On request. Green-certified products are available for a small product fee — just say so when you book. The choice is always yours.
Are you actually a local company?
Since 2005, from the same part of town. Maid O’ Matic is woman-owned and run by Teri Cameron out of our office at 2901 Juan Tabo Blvd NE. Our people keep their own tips and get paid for the drive between homes, which is why they’ve been with us for years — and when something needs to be made right, you’re talking to the people who own the company.
Where do you clean?
Albuquerque, Tuesday through Friday. Outside Albuquerque — Rio Rancho, Corrales, Placitas, Bernalillo, Sandia Park and Cedar Crest — we do deep cleans, resets and move-out cleans only, and every clean there is a deep clean at the starting rate shown on our estimate calculator. We do not service Los Lunas or Edgewood.
How long does a visit take?
About two hours for a routine home with a three-person crew. Deep cleans and move-outs take longer — the estimate tells you how long before you book.
What days do you clean?
Tuesday through Friday for homes. Mondays are reserved for our commercial cleaning accounts, and we’re closed on weekends.

Are the cleaning supplies included?
We bring the professional equipment and supplies needed for your service. A $15 cleaning-products charge plus applicable tax applies unless you provide the cleaning products you would like us to use.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for any changes or cancellations to your scheduled house cleaning service. Appointments changed with more than 24 hours’ notice may be rescheduled without charge. Same-day cancellations, lockouts, or missed appointments will be charged 25% of the scheduled service total, with a minimum cancellation fee of $95. This policy helps us manage scheduling and continue providing reliable, high-quality residential cleaning services to all clients.
