Deep cleaning and organizing are usually treated as two separate chores. The room-reset method
1. Empty and sort. Work one room at a time. Pull items into three piles: keep, donate, toss. Be honest — if it hasn’t been used in a year, it’s probably a donate.
2. Clean the empty space. With surfaces clear, deep clean top to bottom: ceiling fans and vents, then shelves and furniture, baseboards, and floors last. This is the same order our professional teams use on every deep cleaning in Albuquerque.
3. Return items with intention. Everything that goes back gets a home. Group like with like, keep daily-use items reachable, and leave some empty space — full shelves refill themselves.
Where to start if it feels overwhelming
Don’t start with the garage or the closet of doom. Start with the room you see most — usually the living room or kitchen. One finished room creates momentum, and momentum finishes houses. If a whole room is too much, start with one drawer tonight.
