Trusted by Albuquerque homeowners for 21 years, Maid O’ Matic provides reliable house cleaning from trained, background-checked employees — fully bonded and insured up to $2 million. Every cleaning is scoped room by room and priced by the labor hour, so you know what gets done before we start.
Maid O’ Matic has cleaned Albuquerque homes since 2005. This page is the detail: what a cleaning actually covers, how long it takes, and how the price is worked out. If you’d rather just get a number, our pricing page has current rates and you can request a free quote in a couple of minutes.
Three Levels of Clean, and How to Tell Which You Need
Regular (maintenance) cleaning keeps a home that is already at maintenance level exactly there. An average home takes 4 to 5 labor hours; larger homes take more, and we agree that with you before the visit.
Deep cleaning and spring cleaning (a reset) starts at 8.5 labor hours (6 labor hours for units 700 sq ft and under within 15 driving miles). A reset is not a longer regular clean. The home is full — furniture and belongings to work around, and buildup on all of it. Everything a regular clean dusts, a reset hand-washes.
Move-in and move-out cleaning also starts at 8.5 labor hours (6 labor hours for units 700 sq ft and under within 15 driving miles). The home is empty, so the work goes everywhere a regular clean can’t: inside cabinets and closets, the whole oven, blinds and window tracks, every switch plate and vent cover.
One honest note. A regular cleaning can’t be done in a home that hasn’t been maintained. If a home needs a reset, four or five hours spread across it only moves the dirt around, and nobody is happy with the result. When that’s the situation we’ll say so and recommend an initial or deep clean first — after that, regular visits keep it easy.
Outside the house, we also pressure wash driveways, patios, house exteriors, decks, fences and block walls — stucco soft washed, never blasted.
How Labor Hours Work
We price by the labor hour, and labor hours are combined crew time — not clock time at your house. Three cleaners for two hours is six labor hours. It’s the honest way to price a crew, and it’s why a team can finish in a morning what one person would need all day for.
- Deep, initial, move-in and move-out cleanings start at $500 (8.5 labor hours), or $353.10 (6 labor hours) for units 700 sq ft and under within 15 driving miles.
- Recurring visits cost less: 15% off weekly, 10% off every two weeks. Those discounts apply to maintenance visits, not to an initial or deep clean.
- No deposit is required to book.
- Final price follows the labor the home actually needs. Condition, buildup, bathrooms, pet hair, clutter and grease all add time.
If we get into a home and it needs more time than was sold, your Team Leader asks you — in two labor-hour blocks, at the same rate. You’re never obligated to say yes. If you’d rather not add time, we work the hours booked, tell you plainly what we’re leaving off, and write it on the work order. More time never means a slower pace.
What Gets Done
Every visit follows the same order, top to bottom, floors last, so nothing clean gets dirty again on the way out.
Kitchen — counters and backsplash, sink and fixtures, exterior of all appliances, stovetop and hood, microwave inside and out, cabinet fronts, table and chairs, trash out with a fresh bag, floor last.
Bathrooms — pretreated first so the products do the work; tub, shower and glass, tile and grout, sink and vanity, mirrors, fixtures polished, toilet last of the fixtures, floor last.
Bedrooms and living areas — high dusting first, then every surface hand-dusted with a cloth, beds made, mirrors and glass, touch points wiped, upholstery vacuumed, floors last.
Throughout — light switches and outlet plates, door frames and doors, baseboards, vents and cold-air returns, window sills, cobwebs, mopping and vacuuming.
On a deep clean or reset, add — hand-washing everything a regular clean dusts, blinds, sills and tracks, doors and frames, furniture moved and cleaned behind and under, floor edges by hand.
On a move-out, add — inside cabinets and drawers, inside closets and shelves, the whole oven inside and out, the hood filter, blinds and window tracks wet-wiped, every top in the room.
How We Work
- Background-checked W-2 employees. Never day labor, never subcontractors. Bonded and insured to $2 million.
- One room, one rag. A fresh microfiber cloth per room. A used cloth never leaves that room except into the dirty-rag bag, and nothing is ever re-dipped into a clean bucket.
- Fresh scrub pads and toilet screens in every single home. They are not carried from one house to the next.
- No sponges. Damp microfiber and a squeegee where it applies.
- Commercial steam cleaners — heat and water, no chemicals — for grout, hinges, faucet bases, drain stops and tracks.
- Stone gets stone care. Marble and granite are cleaned with pH-neutral products or mild dish soap only — never vinegar, lemon, bleach, ammonia or anything abrasive.
- Less chemical is more. There’s no reason to dump half a can of powder into a tub.
- Arrival windows are 8–12, 10–2 or 12–4.
What We Don’t Do
Being straight about this up front saves everyone a difficult conversation later.
- We don’t clean around clutter. We ask that the home be decluttered before we arrive so the time you’re paying for goes into cleaning, not tidying.
- A deep clean doesn’t include inside cabinets, inside the fridge, inside the oven or dishwasher, closet shelves, windows, or the garage — those are move-out or add-on work. Just ask and we’ll quote them.
- We don’t handle biohazards. Mouse or animal droppings, animal waste, mold, needles, blood, sewage, chemical spills and infestations are not touched, swept or vacuumed. Our crew stops and calls the office, and we’ll tell you honestly what needs to happen first.
- We don’t move heavy or fragile furniture. Anything that can be moved safely gets moved and cleaned under; heavy and fragile pieces stay where they are and we reach underneath and behind them.
- We don’t give exact arrival times. Homes are not identical and we won’t rush one to make a promise on another.
House Cleaning Questions, Answered
How much does house cleaning cost in Albuquerque?
It depends on your home’s size, condition and how often we visit — recurring cleans cost less per visit than one-time cleans. See our pricing page for current rates, or call 505-379-3154 for a free quote in minutes.
Will I get the same cleaner each visit?
We do our best to send the same team every time so they learn your home and your preferences. All of our cleaners are background-checked W-2 employees — never day labor or subcontractors.
Do you bring your own supplies?
We bring all the equipment — vacuums, microfiber cloths and the tools for the job. Cleaning products are optional: for $15 we’ll supply them, and you choose green-certified or a standard commercial brand. Otherwise we’re glad to use the products you already keep at home.
What if I’m not happy with my clean?
If we missed something within the approved scope and hours of your cleaning, tell us within 24 hours and we’ll come back and make it right at no charge. That’s our Love Your Clean guarantee, and we’ve stood behind it for 21 years.
Do I need to be home?
No. Many customers give us access and go about their day. On a move-out you’ll usually want to be reachable, since that’s the job where the crew may need to ask about additional hours.
How far ahead should I book?
The sooner the better for month-end move-outs and the weeks around the holidays — those fill first. Request a free quote and we’ll tell you what’s open.

Built Around Your Home, Not a Script
Every home is different, so every visit is scoped to the one in front of us. We work the same order in every house — high dusting first, wet rooms pretreated, floors last — but what that order covers depends on your home’s size, its condition and how often we come.
The result we’re after is simple: a home that’s genuinely maintenance-ready, so each visit gets easier instead of harder. If your home isn’t there yet, we’ll tell you, and we’ll start with a clean that gets it there.
